The Society was formed during 1987 by a group of friends who, since 1983 had been working together in restoring Brookfield’. The original name was the North London Locomotive Preservation Society (NLLPS). In 2002 the Society decided to change its name to the East Essex Locomotive Preservation Society to reflect the fact that our main operations were now based at Mangapps Railway Museum at Burnham-on-Crouch in Essex.
Another season is almost over with just the Santa specials left to run. The season has gone very well. On March 14th we held our annual dinner at the Quayside restaurant where as usual we had a most enjoyable meal.
